Blue Cash from Amex is probably my favorite of them all. While the cash rewards are tiered, after spending $6500 in everyday purchases in certain categories (groceries, drug stores etc.) you earn 5% and everything else earns 1.5% with no caps. The reward accumulates for one year and then appears as a statement credit.
Amex warns that you should make at least the minimum payment by the due date or risk forfeit of your entire cash reward. I once was 1-2 days late on a payment because of online access problems, and it did not affect my cash rewards. While late payments are never good, late payments under 30 days do not really affect your credit (although they leave you susceptible to finance charges and late charges). I was shocked and very happy that Amex didn't decide to take my cash reward away, which they had every right to do under the card agreement. I take that as a sign of good faith.
Overall, their customer service is excellent. I rarely end up speaking to someone overseas, and the representatives are usually competent and willing to help.

I have the delta sky mile and the Gold Amex pay in full both cards are my favorite as well as CITIBANK

Amex Is On Of My Favorites! on 2008-05-16
Amex blue is one of my favorite cards, but it does not get some of the usage like my Chase Amazon.com card!
