yoyo11's review: Callout Comment Saturday, I received my denial letter in the mail... I was upset as you can imagine. I normally go to Target 2 to 3 times a month... But since I've been on a non spending spree lately I haven't been in the store for 2 months. After looking at my denial letter I've remember what the lady told me over the phone... Giving me hits to go into the store... Also remembering Meya, Wildrage2, Ash, Rockin and others telling me to go into the store... So I picked up and left.

I then took out my debt card... Made a $20 purchase... Looked at the receipt..."no pre approvals".

I then when back to shop... After making all purchases I went back into the cashier line again, looked behind me and asked,..."how do you apply for a card?"... The cashier smiled as I gave her my ID, in which I turned around to make sure no one was looking behind me before I get my big denial... She started to ring me up as she pull the receipt showing that I was approved for $200... I said "get out!". After making my purchase (with cash), I walked towards the door and thought... Hey I should get my 10% discount.

Walking with my $59 receipt, goods and credit card approval to the customer service lane... The lady was happy to apply my purchase to my new "receipt paper card", and gave me my cash back... Added the 10% discount... My purchase was $53.

I'm a happy... I'm officially in the Target Family... WOOSAH

Remarks Well I get percerverence pays off, huh? I'm so tempted to apply for new credit. I was pre-approved for HSBC and Capital 1, but I promised myself that I'd wait another 4-5 months.

My scores took such a huge hit when I opened up 10 accounts 6 months ago... They are just now rebounding (around 589 or so). I'm hoping that by brining down my utliization even lower, and getting rid of a collection or 2, I can be around 625 by late this fall... Then i'll stop applying for the 'poor credit' cards, and graduate up to the 'fair credit' cards lol.

Congrats again on your approval!

Remarks Way to go girlfriend. See how Target put you through the ringer first? They want us to bow down and get our knees dirty for $200 and then beat us with whips when we ask for a cli. They feel like some might Egyptians or something. I had to whip out with my Moses cain, part the red sea, and destroy them!

What Was Your Transunion Score? User Icon on 2008-05-14

Remarks I know they pull transunion... They denied me saying I had too many inquiries... Do you have a lot of inquiries? I am afraid to go in store and apply... When you said you looked behind you and made sure no one was there I laughed... That is so me!!!

I Got The Pending Application User Icon on 2008-05-18

Remarks So I'm guessing I got declined. I've been getting credit lately so I know my scores are taking a hit. I did resumit and finally get an application number but it says that you can only check it once and then no more. Maybe in a few months I will be in the Target family :)

RE: Em User Icon on 2008-05-18

Remarks A lot of people on here that got approved for this card also got the same day message. Don't give up just yet, you might be surprised when that card is dropped off into your mailbox.

Most people who got approved received a CL of $200. They used their cards and made on-time payments and received a CLI in 3 months.

Good Luck

That Would Be Great! User Icon on 2008-05-18

Remarks That would be great if a little target card dropped in the mail... I would be singing woohoo!!! (I read some people complain about the low limit, I don't mind it I can think of a lot of stuff to buy at Target) hehe, I shop there quite often, but I'm wanting to find good cards to rebuild my credit as I want to buy a house in a year and a half... Looking for year 2010.

Application Status User Icon on 2008-05-18

Remarks When I try to go online and get application status it says invalid application number or whatever the number is... I did apply today do you think it's because I just applied?

One More Thing User Icon on 2008-05-19

Remarks Are you sure that you wrote the right number down? Sometimes we can misread numbers, and I know that I have a bad habbit in mistaking the letter O for a number 0 (zero).

Like Rocking said, call in tommorow and check the status, they have all your information in their system so the number is not a real big issue.

Good luck.

Remarks I'm sure, I copy and pasted the application id into wordpad. I'll give it until tomorrow and then call. I'm bad, I always hope for the worst, but maybe the best will come out of it.
