jwa2000's review: Callout Comment Just received my Hooters M/C in the mail after receving the 7-10 decision in the mail thing. Since by BK was just discharged literally two weeks ago, thought I was denied. My credit limit is $500, with an annual fee of $36. APR is high, 26.2%, but don't plan on carrying balances, just looking to rebuild credit. Credit scores were in the mid 500s.

Just FYI for others in my situation. Since by BK discharged, I have been able to get an Orchard Bank M/C, a Best Buy store card, and an Access Visa. Hooters looks to be by far the best. I am done applying for credit for a long time. My credit rebuilding is on its way thanks to all of the advice I have learned from reading these forums. Thanks!

Remarks Congrats on the new approval.

Capital One and Hooters seem to be the best card to build your credit with.

Don't be discouraged with the low limit. I'm sure they'll give you some CLI's along the way as long as you use your card responsibility.

I would wait 3-4 months and apply for a Capital One card depending on your FICO score. Capital One is a very good credit card to have regardless of what you're trying to achieve. Good luck with your new card!

Remarks Congrats on the approval, you are lucky with the annual fee, a lot of people in here are paying $72 per year.

Remarks I have not posted on here in a LONG time! That's what having a three year old, working full-time, and working on a master's degree will do to you. I wanted to update everyone on this great card.

After receiving a $500 credit limit literally weeks after a BK-7 discharge in April of '08, I received a credit limit raise to $800 a year later (April, '09). I just went to my online account today to pay off holiday charges, and found they just bumped me up to a $1,000 credit limit. I have not had any problems whatsoever with this card, and I love the fact that it continues to grow with me as I attempt to return to the 700 club.
