keys's review: Callout Comment Applied for online and approved instantly for $100 which was kinda disappointing. Went to store following day with intention on paying for purchase in cash, after all, you can't get much in Macy's for $100. Clerk suggested I use my card to get 15% discount, told her I just got card and I didn't want to start out by maxing out card. She suggested calling cs to request increase since $100 limit is online precaution, so I did and they raised my limit to $300! I used the card, got my discount, and turned around and paid the bill off.

Remarks This is a good card. They are very good with increases. You can call them and ask for an increase every 3 months. They will most likely grant you the increase as long as you've made your payments on time and don't go over your limit. Good luck!

You Go User Icon on 2008-04-14

Remarks Now that is what I am talking about. Make sure that you keep it up like that and in the next 4 months, call in for a cli after your statement closes. They are pretty cool and I have not heard anything bad about them here. Read previous postings on this card and you will see the good news. One more thing, you are going to get heck of coupons and dollar discounts in the mail with your card. Use it or send it to me... Lol. Congrats buddie!

Never Been In A Macy's... User Icon on 2008-04-14

Remarks I think the closest one is an hour and a half away. But last night after reading this review I decided to check their online selection.

A few weeks ago at church I saw a purse and I thought I MUST HAVE THAT. So I was browsing through Macy's purses and lo and behold! There was the purse I coveted. And of course it was in the $2-300 section.

:-(

I also found a spiffy wallet to go along with it.

I wish we had a Macys. T_T

March User Icon on 2008-06-20

Remarks It was back in March, which wasn't that long ago.

It was wierd... I submitted my application and all's it said was "Thank You." I immediately thought I was denied, but was surprised when I saw the e-mail.

They seem to be changing a lot of their policies around lately, so who knows.

I got a bloomingdales card at the same time. Macy's gave me a $100 limit and Bloomingdales gave me $1000. Now, 3 months later, I asked for increases on both cards. Macy's only upped me to $200 which is pathetic... And Bloomingdales boosted me to $2500. I realize that things are a little bit more expensive at Bloomingdales, but not enough to warrant that kind of disparity - especially considering that the same company owns both stores lol...

Remarks Thank you for all the Info.

Also those cards Macys and Bloomingdales they look real good to other creditors so even if you don't use them they will help raise your FICO.

Again I appreciate all your info. With macy's and Bloomingdales

Take Care,

Alex

Remarks When you applied online did they give you a reference number that looked like WW32K1A0? I am asking that because I know that GEMB does that when it is sometimes all bad. But let me get your hopes up for a minute, my neighbor received the same message as wildrage, so keep your hopes up and we all have our fingers crossed for you.

You'll Be Okay User Icon on 2008-06-20

Remarks When I applied to this cards my FICOS were only in the 570's after opeing a whopping 7 accounts 4 months prior.

I'm not sure why I was approved in only 5 minutes.

It seems like some credit card companies are rather random with their methods...
