baystate's review: Callout Comment Applied on-line and got immediate approval for $700 credit line. EQ 671, EX 670, TU 623. I heard rumors that this card had a low approval rate, but figured I'd try because I shop at Wal-Mart often because of their prices. GE Money usually pulls EQ.

Remarks I don't know about the approval rate, but a $700 cl from Wal-Mart is considered high. Most people have $2-300 cl.

Remarks I wish I woulda of gotten that high of a CL w. Them... When I applied it was only $125!!! 3 months later... Only $75 CLI making it $200 this is my lowest card and it sucks because I really cant take advantage of those $299+ no interest or whatever offers.

I Thought $800 Was Crummy!!! User Icon on 2008-04-13

Remarks Wow,

Hey Lyyssa01, I actually didn't know that about Walmart. Last year they sent me a pre-approval in the mail. I filled out the form and got the card in 2 weeks with a $800 credit line. I was sick!! I looked at that smiley face and almost through it across the room but I decided to keep it because like everyone else, I show at Walmart on a monthly basis. I actually thought that my limit was very low, I didn't realize that Wal-Mart generally begin with CL in the lower 200's. I learn something new everyday. Rockin35

Excuse The Typo User Icon on 2008-04-13

Remarks Sorry, excuse the typo above. I meant to say "I SHOP" at Walmart like everyone else and decided to keep the card with the $800 CL. Rockin35

Remarks When I first got my WalMart cc it was a 2-300 limit, can't remember which. I kept it for several years, and the highest I got was around $700. Earlier this year when DH and I put several credit cards on the chopping block I called Wal-Mart and asked for a cli. No only did the csr say no can do, she also said that at $700 my cl was actually pretty high, and that most people have $2-300. I have heard of people having or gaining higher cl, but it's very few and far between.

Either which way, we ended up axing poor WalMart.

I think on the WalMart Discover they're more generous.

Re: User Icon on 2008-04-13

Remarks One person posted that they started out with a $200 credit

limit. Used it every month and paid triple the minimum

payment. Then she hit the love button every month

and each time they gave her increases by $100. She got her limit up to $1500 that way. I was waiting for the auto CLI too because I recently hit my third or fourth statement and I thought you had to wait for them.

I tried it and they gave $100 which makes it $500 now. I am going to do the same thing next month and see what happens. And by the way they tell you right online if you want it your limit up dates and available credit within seconds. I wish target was that easy (LOL!)

My Limit Is Decent User Icon on 2008-04-14

Remarks I hope I don't cause a riot... But my Wal-Mart card has a limit $1125. It grows SLOWLY, $100 every four months. I started at $600. They will give a small increase every 4 months, provided there is activity and good payments... So far that has been true for me...
