I applied for the third time after cleaning all the baddies from my credit report. I got an instant approval for $200. Kinda low limit but I'm very very happy about it since this is my third try in 2 years. Does anyone know if I go into the store if they will raise my limit? I thought someone said that once before.
All my scores are in the low 600's and I have a BK from 2005

This card is good its from Ge Money Bank... JC penny is a great store they have just about everything.
I buy almost all my shirts at JC PENNY online There price is great.

$200 is the limit they start everyone off when you apply online for security purposes. I applied online, and did not use or request an increase within the first 30 days, and they refused to give me a credit increase. It took me three calls in before I got my increase. Go into the store, explain you applied online and request a cli. If that doesn't work call in and ask. They told me "We don't give increases just because a customer wants one..." and "we only give increases if you are making a big purchase..." But persistence pays off. The last time I called I explained that even though the $200 limit is for security purposes, I felt that they were penalizing me for not using the card immediately. I asked her to please look at my account. She did, and immediately raised it the limit from $200 to $1000.

Give them a clall MaryM and see what they can do for you. Congrats on the approval, I know you are going to have a good time with this card. I just came back from shopping today at JcPenny's. I love this store and the customer service. You will receive mini catalogs and nice coupons in the mail very soon. I believe that we get a $25 welcome coupon in the mail when card arrives.
Use the card, and give them a call four months later to ask for a cli. I went from $500 in store approval to $1500 within four months.

Wow just looked at my account and they raised my cl from 200 to 1800!!! I can't believe it. I've only had the card since April of this year. Gotta love JCP.

You go girl. You just have to love these people, they have shown mass majority of us nothing but love. I will never turn this card down. They just sent me the silver card about a week ago. I was afraid when I looked at my mail because I have not applied for a card in so long until I was like, "Who is this?" But to my surprise it was goo dole Jcp showing me some love by upgrading my card to a rewarding status. I love it when a creditor is showing me how much they appreciate my business especially when I least expect it. It gives me extra motivation to keep my credit clean at all times, you never know who is looking.

Credit line increase on this bad boy. I'm up to $3100 now.
I hit the luv button and got the 7-10 day message but then checked my account about a week later online and seen that I got the increase.
They have been good to me. They did raise my rate up another percent but it looks like that's happening to everyone. Still I will keep them!
