hjm331's review: Callout Comment I applied for this card tonight since Eric convinced me that when BofA rolls out with a new card, they approve a lot of people. But that wasn't my case with me. I was hoping they would look at my payment history with the other card I have with them which is the Student Platinum Plus Visa. My FICO score at the time was 693 Experian.

Bank Of America Sucks User Icon on 2008-01-17

Remarks I have many cards... Such as American Express... Citi American Express... Hooters... Paypal... And I also have auto loan with Bank of America... And always pay on time... But when I apply for this card they decline... Me... And to top this off... WHEN I APPLYED FOR THERE SECURED CARD THEY DENIED ME FOR THAT TOO... So I decide that I will close my auto loan with them... And no matter what I will not take credit card or anything from them... Dont do business with them... My score are around 710with all three bureu

Remarks Desihunk, I'm going to call them tomorrow because when they denied me, there was a number on the bottom where you call them have them consider their decision on my application. I want them to look at my account history on the other card that I have with them. I don't have any late payment, don't carry a balance currently, and have received a CLI from them for $250 bringing my limit up to $1,000. I hope I can get them to approve my application despite my low score and short credit history.

Remarks It looks like Bank of America knows exactly what they are doing. That is why they are showing a profit.

Remarks You can convert the Student Platinum Plus Visa card to this card or any other credit card product you want. I converted my BoA student card to BoA America Express card because I am foreign and American Express charge only 1 % for transactions made in a foreign currency. ( Visa and Mastercard charges 3%)

Product Upgrade User Icon on 2008-01-23

Remarks Eric and Gk, I don't want to upgrade this my student Visa because it is my second oldest credit card ever. I have a 6 month payment history with them and I have a 7 month history with my Cap1 Mastercard, my oldest credit card.

Remarks Great card. You can only get if you have another relationship with B of A to get. Examples are a checking account, mortgage, or CDs. You cant have another card with b of a and have that as the other relationship. So HJM, make sure you have a checking or a mortgage with us before you apply. Thanks

Remarks Eric, I've never been through the process of upgrading/converting a credit card account? How does it work with BofA? I have had 2 checkings account with BofA along with a savings and a Student Platinum Plus Visa. My dad has had an account with them for 23 years now and have had no problems with them.

Actually... User Icon on 2008-01-30

Remarks I did not have ANY relationship with them when approved for this card in NOV 2007. However when they offer to open a checking account for you when applying online... DO IT! Otherwise they won't approve you and that is straight from the Senior customer service rep I spoke to when after getting the card.

No Problems User Icon on 2008-01-30

Remarks Columbia45, I do have a checking account with BofA so that's not going to be the problem. By any chance, do you happen to have the telephone number to the senior account manager/rep you spoke to so I can speak to someone with higher authority? I want all the correct information as I can get before upgrading my card.

Cross Your Fingers For Me! User Icon on 2008-05-05

Remarks I applied for this card after I got approved for the BofA AMEX. The reason why I want this card is because it offers 1.5 points on every dollar spent so the rewards add up pretty quickly.

I haven't heard anything from them for a few weeks so I hope I get approved!
