june's review: Callout Comment I thought this was going to be a good card, but I was wrong. Had a few problems this past month and went over the credit limit. What do they do? Send me to their collections department after one month. Okay, fine. They called me and I set what I thought was a payment arrangement. Wrong! They called back 2 days later demanding that I either pay them now or pay them with a post dated check card payment. No way! Told them I get paid on Friday and I'd pay them then and that I do not post date anything. I was made to think that I was a bad, despicable person for going over my credit limit and that the fact that I was out sick for 2 weeks and missed work, or that I was only working part time instead of full time didn't matter. They kept insisting that I had to pay them their way or else they would keep calling me. Told them that was harassment if they called every day and was told it wasn't. Told them the only option they had was to accept the payment arrangement I could do or I'd cut the card up. They still refused. So, I'm sending them a cease and desist letter. They'll be lucky to get $1 a month from me for the next 385 days. DO NOT go with this scam artist. If you want a good bad credit credit card go with First Premier.

Remarks June, are you serious? I dont know how else I can write this without it sounding like a personal attack but what do you expect a credit card company to do when you're late and over limit on a credit card? The credit card company trusted you enough to give you a card and you agreed by accepting the card and using it to make timely payments and stay within the guidelines of this agreement. Im sorry that you were out sick and youre only working part-time but Total Visa has every right to be forceful, rude and demanding until you pay them what you owe them. Then you say that you're sending them a cease and desist letter and how they will be lucky to get $1 a month from you even though you owe them the money?????? Even if the unforeseen circumstance is what caused you to go over limit, YOU are still responsible for paying.

Remarks I totally agree with your comments. However, the voice of reason is usually not appreciated or tolerated here.

Remarks The only scam artist I see here is the person who doesn't want to accept the terms of the credit card company. Sorry buddy but I don't have any sympathy for you when you say, They'll be lucky to get $1 a month from me for the next 385 days." This type of behavior may explain why your credit is not so perfect and why you must apply for these types of cards.

Remarks But what they are doing is completely legal. And htey're probably rude since they are used to giving credit to bad credit people, who well, tend to be a high risk. Therefore, it is not in their best interest to be relaxed and understanding (they are already taking a risk even giving you credit). I don't think you have any legal recourse. You can refuse to pay, but you will get harassed and go to collections and they are not going to leave you alone til you do. You loaned money from them. It doesn't matter that they were not nice about it, you are still responsible for paying it back.

Remarks Hate to hear that you were having some financial difficulties but I have to agree with everyone else. You can't demand a credit card company to accept your terms of repayment and then threaten non-payment when they tell you no. You may want to be more cautious about the comments that you post online.

Remarks I had this card when I was in my early twenties. This card is designed to help you build credit. I kept Total Visa for a year and a half and decided that it had served its purpose and moved on.
If you run into the problem of over the limit fees and late fees, that usually means that you are not using credit responsibly. This is not a knock on you; after all I was in the same bad credit club.
I live by the motto: If I cant afford to pay the balance off in a month... I cant afford to have the card.

Remarks I just had to laugh about this. Someone needs to educate June about how credit works.
