nwalker30's review: Callout Comment I applied for this card in april 2014 and was instantly approved. My score at the time was high 500s low 600s. My FICO score now is 659 and I have decent household income. I'm not confident this card will unsecure, but I'm not that concerned about it. (Received my first amex (green) card in July, I'm so happy about that. And I did not have a high score at the time).

ps. I haven't been on here since 2008 so I'm catching up my activity

Remarks In reading on this card ... often times people found it took longer than one year to graduate. For myself, I had $5,000 tied into the secured card and after two years closed it and got my money back. Some people have applied for unsecured Wells Fargo Cards. Do not have any insight into their credit profile requirements. Other credit providers may seen your performance at the credit bureaus and approve you for unsecured cards. Food for thought. Your FICO Scores may need a little more growth too.

Remarks I can tell you I have had my Wells Fargo Secured card for over 3 years and it is still not unsecured. I currently have a $3,000 credit line and scores in the mid 600's and they still denied my request to upgrade to another card, when I called to ask about upgrading I was informed by the credit analyst that I needed at least a 660 to qualify for an upgrade and try again once I reach that level.

Remarks Every secured card I've ever been offered had a clear plan for progressing to unsecured within a year. You might want to check your original agreement and see what it says. If it's open-ended, maybe you should investigate a different secured card as this one doesn't appear to be helping your credit.
