I received a letter informing me that I was eligible for Venture Visa. I did a little research and found that Cap One is quite conservative concerning account upgrades so I pulled the trigger. I was immediately approved for the upgrade with 15.1% interest with no annual fee. Capital One did a soft pull but left my credit limit at $3000.00. I have had the regular Platinum MC for 7 years and did not receive a cli from 2008 through early 2013 despite perfect payment history so I was quite surprised that received the upgrade.

Wow, that's great news! Nice card, no annual fee, 1.25% on points. You are right though, that (capital one doing a product change) is virtually unheard of. You did good, congrats!

If you're looking for a cli, i would suggest emailing the EO of Capital One. Believe me, they are bombarded with emails from cardmembers who are tired of stagnant cl's. Someone from EO will call back within 48 hours and take your info. And, it has been SP's for cli's.

Congrats! Thanks for letting us know upgrades even happen at Capital One. You have one of the best prime cards. Nice ... In my own experience, often times upgrades do not necessarily change CL's.
