nckuttoomm's review: Callout Comment I applied this card first time around last June, that time I don't have banking relationship with Chase. I opened a saving and a checking account in Oct. After a few days they send me a letter which ask me to apply for this card. On the credit card application online you will see that to apply for this card you have to satisfy 3 questions:

1. Credit history is clear of bankruptcy

2. Credit history is clear of seriously delinquent accounts

3. Have NOT been denied credit by Chase within the last 6 months

I knew that so I email the customer service and ask them if I am really qualified to apply for this card but they did not reply. On this other hand, in the mail it said that that is a offer exclusively for customers with bank account. After all, I applied and was denied immediately. I email them afterward but they did not really answer my questions.

Even got rejected but I still like this card though.

Anyway, today I got the true earning AMEX card with more than 14 hard inquiries and I don't really need the Chase Freedom now. I thought Chase is supposed to be less stringent than AMEX right~?

I totally have no idea of my credit score when the first time I got rejected. The second time was probably around 680~699.

Remarks Mind filling out a full review from your AMEX? I am thinking about applying one. You could include your scores and income primarily.

Remarks I believe Chase and Amex both use Experian so I am still shocked that Amex would approve you for a card with fourteen inquiries. That is usually a red flag for most banks-which is why Chase probably declined you. In my humble opinion, they did you a favor. I find that Chase is shady.

You may want to slow down on the credit apps for a while until those inquiries fall off.

Remarks Chase just reduced both my personal and business credit lines (inactivity, lack of utilization of credit lines, too many other credit lines available and not a profitable account). That said, you may be better off. The big boy banks have become such a waste of time. What Chase said is actually all true. So, do me a favor make me close them so it reads "closed at consumer's request".

Remarks Is there any particular reason for KIEJON9 to say that?

Remarks Huuuum? I think he just had some issues with Chase raising his Apr a few months ago for no apparent reason at all.

Re: Denied User Icon on 2010-04-19

Remarks I don't understand why the APR is such an issue if you're always paying on time. If not, the issue will not be APR anyway, the black mark on the credit report will be the problem.

Remarks As luck and a tenacious personality would have it, I contacted Chase over their big boy bank atitiude. They called me last week and spent 20 minutes really being a human bank. I was in shock. After the conversation, they agreed if I would approve it (I did) they would reinstate my credit lines at Chase. Effective today Monday, I have everything back the way it was. Amazing. The fact they followed back my call from an account supervisor and reviewed my personal and business situation blew me away. They made some professional suggestions and we parted like they really cared!

Remarks Nope. Chase is the hardest on credit reports. I used to work for their financials department. I was an EMPLOYEE and they wouldn't even give me one. You have more chance of getting an AMEX. I applied for an AMEX a few days ago and I am now a very happy AMEX card holder and I applied for this card just to see if I would get approved. Nope. Denied... Again. Its ok I will take AMEX ANYDAY of Chase. I have family that has this card and the APR is sky rocketing. Steer AWAY from Chase cards.
