nckuttoomm's review: Callout Comment It seems that I am the only holder of this credit card. I got this one around 18 months ago, the reason why I applied this card was stupid, really stupid.

That time my credit score was a little more than 700, you can take it as 700. The credit length was 6 months. They approved me for a credit limit "500"... And they never increase that for me for the last 18 months unless I asked for an increase.

The worst thing of this card is that every time if you wanna have some increase on your credit line, it's guarantee that you're going to have a hard pull.

However, last month, the first time I seriously checked its reward program I realized that this card can be regarded as a 1% cash back card. So, this card is fine to me after all.

The cash advance of this card is always 50% of the credit line and they're saying that the cash advance can be taken as a part of credit line, too. I doubt that and I don't want to test it for it never reports the sum of CL and cash advance to three BU.

Anyway, this is technically the first credit card I applied in this country and I will keep it for good as an evidence of PhD memory.

Remarks I had their Platinum Editon from 2001-2006. I rarely, rarely ever used the card, in fact they did not issue me a new card in 2004 when the previous card expired because I had not used it in so long. It was my first true platinum card with a $5,000 limit. Never once got an increase and the APR was too high. Funny story; I tried closing the account on 12/31/06 (New Years Eve) and customer service was closed! Last time I checked, New Years Eve is not a holiday. Then I tried closing the account early January 2007 and could not get ahold of them because of a blizzard in Nebraska. For those reasons, I was not upset at all about closing the account.

Remarks First National Bank of Omaha is tends to be more conservative in their lending pratices. I had one of their cards year's back and they were not that progressive so I am NOT surprised few people have applied.

Remarks However, numbers above are not realistic in today's condition. The whole credit industry became conservative just after I applied this card which means if you are on the same page as I was before, you are possibly not going to get approved. It really happened to many of my friends. The major reason my friends got rejected was:

* The length of credit history is not long enough.

This card is not a student card anyway so there's nothing wrong for them to say that though. One would say that this card doesn't worth that much effort (I mean hard inquiries...) but this is a small town and FNB is quit convenient for many people.
