Waiting For A Response User Icon on 2009-02-23

Remarks Ok, applied for this card last week on a Saturday online, so I decided to check if they pulled my credit, they pulled my credit on 02/20. I called today to see if I was approved. The rep. Said that unfortunately they couldn't approve me at this time, then he said wait, when did you apply, I told him just a week ago, he said oh, then you need to wait for about 30 days.

I'm Confused... User Icon on 2009-02-23

Remarks I would call back and try to get another rep and see if they give you the same story. You can't be too sure what the person told you was right, since they gave you conflicting information.

Changes? User Icon on 2009-02-24

Remarks I am with Colo, this is new to me and I have heard only Yes or NO from Macy's. Unless they are changing the way they process applications, I say call right back and hear the results from another rep. This is very new to me and you are the first person I have heard this from. Thanks for the info!

30 Days? User Icon on 2009-02-24

Remarks Sounds like he was implying that you would receive the dreaded denial letter and did not want to have to tell you over the phone.

Waiting 30 days from a legit company like Macy's does not make sense.

If you apply again (in the future) I would recommend appying in store, your chances for approval and higher credit line are better that way.

Re: Denied User Icon on 2009-12-18

Remarks Did you apply for the card online? If so, then you were most probably denied because they couldn't verify your identity. You should apply in the store while making a purchase, that almost guarantees you an approval.

Re: Denied User Icon on 2009-12-18

Remarks So sorry to hear about your denial. Before you apply anywhere else, please give the "Score Match" a try to see which cards would be within your credit range according to your credit scores. Please follow the link below.

Good luck!

Re: Denied User Icon on 2009-12-19

Remarks Your in luck! This lowest score requirement is a 580, I think you are more than in the clear, I would suggest with having some inquires like you do, to go into the store and avoid the online app at all possible, the reason why is for security reasons they will see the inquires and maybe turn you down, it you go into the store and show ID at the register its a sure bet you will get this card! I hope this helps

Got 7 To 10 Day Message? User Icon on 2009-12-23

Remarks I applied for this card today and got the 7 to ten day message. Others with credit scores close to mine were being approved so I tried. What is my chance of being approved after getting the 7 to ten day message?

Remarks You should've applied in store because they can easily verify your identity. I've posted countless times reminding everyone to apply for store cards in the store.

Remarks I couldn't agree more with HJM, the best way to get approved is in the store, the reason being, unless your bureau is squeaky clean, their system can find any reason to deny you credit. Too many inquires, open accounts ect..., but once you are in their store, whole nother story, they want you to spend money and way more easier to verify who you are! If you get a phone call from them, that could be good new though, cause a lot of times, that means your conditionally approved pending they can verify your identity.

Re: Got 7 To 10 Day Message? User Icon on 2009-12-23

Remarks I wouldn't worry to much about the 7-10 message because I have seen a lot of people getting approvals from it. I received the same message from US Bank, but it came right through. I think they just need more time to "Dissect" your cr. As soon as you get an answer, go back and do a review about the card. Thanks and Good luck!
