webreader's review: Callout Comment I applied today at Walmart for their store card, but was instead approved for the Walmart Discover card for a $1600 cl. I have a Discover card from Discover and I didn't want another one. The APR on the Walmart Discover card is 22.90%. That is much higher than my other cards. I would blame it on the economy, but looking at the Walmart website, they have a much lower APR. I called to cancel, but the customer service person told me the benefits of keeping the card. Like the 0% for 12 months on purchases over $299 for the Walmart Discover card and not the Walmart card. That's the only time I will use the card is when a purchase is over $299. I asked them to lower my APR after telling them how much lower my APR is on my other cards, but they refused. I told them about my APR being 13.90% on my Discover and 9% on my Bank of America card. The B of A is not a secured card. I don't know what my scores are. The Walmart store card is also 22.90%.

Remarks Sorry to hear your disappointed. But, I must say in general "In-store cards blow." I don't target you, but I just had to say it. :D

They used to be nice in the old days... Now their just outsourced to companies.

Plus, who wants to have a giant Walmart logo in their wallet? I love my Target <3.

Remarks Congrats! Few people reporting on this site start with the Walmart Discover Card. Use it to your advantage. Frankly, the actual card issuer GEMB is for the birds. Your real Discover Card is where your future is. Not bad for a GEMB Card however.

Remarks Congrats! On your new card. The csr was wrong about one thing though the 12 month special benefits both cards not only the discover one.

Remarks Wow, I wanna say congrats, but not for sure if I should say that... Lol. This was an interesting post, I have never read anything like it here. It is something to think about... If you already have discover, what is the purpose of another? Huuum! I can agree with you on this one.
