flirishpm's review: Callout Comment I applied for this card online for no other purpose than to have an extra card in my wallet for miscellaneous charges (gas, coffee, lunch, etc). Plus, I like their wings and beer.

I have a Citi AAdvantage AMEX ($9,000 w/unlimited option), Capital One Platinum Visa ($4,500), Platinum Visa from Wachovia ($12,500) and of course the requisite Corporate AMEX I only use for business travel/expenses.

I pay off the balance on all of my cards each month so I'm not concerned with the 14.20% interest rate on this card. No annual fee and there are some "ok" rewards if you intend to max the credit line out every month and pay off the balance. Cardholder gets 5 points for every dollar spent at Hooters locations and 1 point for every dollar spent elsewhere.

Merrick Bank (Hooters MasterCard) pulled TransUnion for approval. My FICO score is 706 w/TransUnion. It's the lowest of all my FICO scores. No bankruptcy ever, no charge offs, no collections, no lates and each of my credit reports shows a credit history of 15 years (it's actually over 25 years so I'm not sure why they only report 15 years of credit history).

Credit line issued to me by Merrick Bank for the Hooters MasterCard is $1,250. Not a bad credit line to have for miscellaneous expenses. I'll use this card and let everyone know if I run into any problems.

Remarks Wow, with your credit history and score Hooters gave you a paltry credit line.

Congrats on your approval.

Remarks I was thinking the same thing, but I do believe they based their decision on FLIrishPM current limit with others.

Remarks On your approval. Hooters have have been pretty tight with initial credit limits even with top notch credit but with no annual fee and a good apr it's all good. The cli's they give stinks though.

Remarks Just to answer your wondering as to why your report only shows 15 years of history is due to that old 10 year credit history removes itself from bureau records at that time.

Whether good or bad history, it all goes away. I lost a lot of my excellent history on reporting accounts that were 10 years and older.

But your scores are good, as most high FICO achievers have average age of 7 years plus.

Hey Meya and Colonative, I've been away for awhile!

Actually, the 1250$ line with Hooters is one of the highest I've seen in quite awhile from Merrick Bank.

Remarks Congrats Op!

It may be a smaller limit in comparison to your others but it will grow with you...

I started at $750 and am now up to $1350

Hooters MasterCard Now Reporting... User Icon on 2009-04-14

Remarks I obtained this card last month (March 2009) and it is now reporting to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion.

Merrick Bank only pulled TransUnion when they were checking my credit files for approval for the card so I think it's great that they're reporting to all 3 bureaus.

Remarks Letter from Merrick Bank this week where my Hooters Mastercard is being replaced with their Platinum Visa card. No more Hooters card. Glad I was able to cash in all my points a month ago and get the $50 dollar gift card for my next visit to Hooters for wings and beer.
