aclove404's review: Callout Comment I have had this card since July of 2006 and used it once. I was looking to transfer balances and the int rate on this card was really low. Today I transferred 4600 in cc debt and my limit is 7000. I have debt only on one card so we will see how it goes. AMEX comes in handy whether in trouble or not.

Remarks Glad you are happy with your card. Do you remember what bureau they pulled and what your score was?

Does this card have the annual fee and that is why it was never closed out? (since you only used it once).

I have not had any problems with Amex either (so far) and I like their customer service.

Remarks Be warned AMEX is approving new accounts and allowing balance transfers then dropping credit lines as well as closing out accounts. I would watch this and any AMEX account like a hawk. One a side note AMEX has pissed so many loyal customers off when the economy does come back they are going to find themselves up for a rude awaking if they manage to survive. I hear a rumor they are the credit card issuer most likely to go belly up!

Remarks Yes, be warned. Youhaven't used the card for some time and doing a balance transfer may be dangerous especially how they are acting. AmEx is also known for decreasing your limit right before your balance is to be paid off so that you are still kept in debt. They are in so much trouble, I heard that they made themselves an actual bank to get some of that bailout funds to help stay afloat.

Remarks My scores range from 714-736 and I just paid off a car loan and I have 4years left on my mortgage if they decide to decrease my limit I'm gone as a customer. Many of my coworkers have had problems from AMEX just closing their accts without any notice

Remarks It sounds like you should not have any problems with those scores. Just don't use it at a dollar store...
