kimmiee78's review: Callout Comment I went to Best Buy to purchase a laptop tonight and decided to apply for the Best Buy store card.

They were out of applications, so they called the bank and we did the application over the phone.

I was immediately approved with a cl of $3000. Yay!

Remarks Congratulations on your approval. Can you provide some of your personal info ie... Current credit scores and past account status which enabled you to receive the Best Buy Card.

Remarks Congrats on the approval!!!

Just be on the look out, as HSBC has admitted to jacking up the APRs for BestBuy credit card program.

Enjoy your card!!!

Remarks Use them for all they are worth. Be sure to pay off your balance before the 0% APR runs out.

Congrats On The Approval User Icon on 2009-02-17

Remarks Congrats on your approval and nice limit. I have the BB Mastercard for a seven months now and on the six month I received a credit line increase of $100.00. When I called to ask for more, they denied me. Playing the game with HSBC, I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me that the increase was declined due to them giving me one the month prior. I told the supervisor that six months of heavy usage and perfect payment history was worth more than $100 of a CLI. He still said there was nothing he could do. The minute I said I am going to close the account, he said oh wait, because we don't want to loose you as a "valued customer" we can give you another $100 to keep your account open. I accepted. He said that IF and I do mean IF with this bank you get a CLI every six months, it's a max of $200. I just thought I would let all of you know that this seems to be the only way to get a CLI.

Remarks Kevin, I too received a $100 increase at 6 months... But at 1 yr I got $300. So whoever you talked to on the phone was full of it. Enjoy the new card Kimmiee78 :D

Thanks.... User Icon on 2009-02-18

Remarks My current scores are 660, 663 and 690.

I do have a couple bad marks on my credit report due to charge offs from a few + years ago... Nothing since then.

I was very happy with the $3000 limit and was able to purchase the laptop I wanted without maxing out the card.

And I qualified for the zero interest for 18 months - which of course I plan on having the laptop paid off long before then.

Good luck everyone! :)

Approved...but.. User Icon on 2009-02-23

Remarks I was approved with BB but it was for the MasterCard, not the Best Buy store credit card, can anyone tell me what the difference is?

Thanks.

Store Card Vs. Mastercard User Icon on 2009-03-06

Remarks On the BB store card, you usually qualify for any interest free promotions, on the MasterCard, you usually do not.
