Questions to Answer Before Applying for a Business Credit Card

Applying for a business credit card is a big decision. While this may be something you think you need, you don’t want to jump ahead until you are 100 percent certain.

To ensure that you are on the right track, here are several questions to answer before applying for a business credit card. All of these are important to address:

•    What are your plans for using the credit card?
•    Do you have a list of items that you will purchase with the credit card on a regular basis?
•    Are you comfortable with the idea of paying off your balance in full each month?
•    What type of business credit card is best for your organization?
•    How many people will receive access to a credit card?
•    What features are most important to you?
•    Are you familiar with the hundreds of available business credit card offers?

These are the types of questions you need to answer before applying, as they will help clear your mind and allow you to make a more informed decision.

Do you need help answering these questions? While some of these are personal, meaning that you have to answer for yourself, others can be answered with the help of another party.

For example, you could search online for answers. Along with this, you could contact a credit card company to see if they can point you in the right direction.

You never want to apply for a business credit card on a whim. Instead, you want to make this decision after conducting your research and considering all your options.

With all this in mind, there’s only one question left: will you apply for a business credit card at some point in the near future?

As an add to this, you may well be reviewed verbally and potentially be requested to provide documents on your business. Questions may seem like a grilling when the lender explores what you do, how your organized, how much will you spend, will there be a personal guarantee and many mor specific business related questions. Chase is known for digging in to determine whether the lending request fits their risk profile so be prepared. On, some business cards do not report to the consumer credit bureaus but rather business credit bureaus (except for failure to perform).

Interesting information Wanderer. I have recently added 2 Chase business credit cards, and the process was very seamless for me. Granted I have a personal guarantee on both cards, but the process was approved within a day and I only had to provide minimal information.
