clifton's review: Callout Comment I received another pre-approval in the mail and applied online today. Well, they gave me another card with a limit of 1300 dollars, no annual fee, and 0% APR for until Feb 1, 2009. My other Wamu Platinum Visa has a limit of 1000 dollars. I will combine both cards in the future since both don't have annual fees. Wamu must like me. I did not check my scores before I applied but I must assume they were good enough for me to get a second card from them with a limit higher than the first.

Remarks That is so great. Do you have other cc's as well besides the WAMU platinum Visa?

Remarks Unfortunately, WAMU doesn't allow you to combine cards. I don't know if they will change this rule in the future but that's the way it is now.

Scores? User Icon on 2008-07-21

Remarks What where your scores when you applied?

I've taken a moritorium on applying, but plan on applying for 'primer' cards this fall. I have an acct. With Wamu and was preapproved for a card, but am waiting until Oct or Nov to have a better chance at applying and to get a better limit. Right now my FICO is around 630, and from what I read, something higher then 650 is probably best for this card...

Remarks Wildrage, I received tons of preapprovals from WAMU last year and my TU score was somewhere around 640-655. I got a limit over $4k and I had a few baddies on my re port so I'm not sure if that day was my lucky day or not. However, I do have a couple of old store trade lines that have high limits and no negatives or lates on them.

However, last year was better economically than where we are now so...

Remarks Nice... Wamu wont give me credit card... I have an bank account with them but they are still in gripes about the Providian account I had defaulted on in 1999. I was young and DUMB... It should be coming off my report here within the next year or so.

Remarks If WaMu blacklists, then you're out of luck. Personally, I'd rather have more BOA cards than a WaMu card.

My Cards As They Stand Right Now. User Icon on 2008-07-22

Remarks Wamu Visa #1= 1000 dollar cl

Wamu Visa #2= 1300 dollar cl (waiting for it to arrive)

Chase Platinum Visa=400 dollar cl

Cap1 Visa #1 = 1600 dollar cl

Cap1 Visa #2 = 1600 dollar cl

Direct Rewards Discover Network (HSBC) =1400 dollar cl

HSBC Cash or Fly MC= 2350 dollar cl

FPB VISA = 400 dollar cl

Credit One Platinum Visa = 300 dollar cl

Target Red Card = 200 dollar cl

No more applying' for awhile. I need to stick to this.

And I really wonder why WAMU wont combine cards. Especially if both don't have annual fees.

Remarks Unfortunately Wamu cards are much like Groovin' CD's--"Brotha, you gotta go get your own" LOL.

Remarks If I were you, I'd combine both of my Capital One cards to have a card with a $3,200 limit. Keep the card with the longer history. This way, the card you keep will have a $3,200 limit reporting on your credit report and the lenders you have credit cards with will try match or come close to your highest CL if they want to keep your business. This is a good strategy to get higher CL's and increase your score.

I combined both of my Capital One cards 2 weeks ago and I have one card with a $3,550 limit now. I am going to try to get BOA to match that limit since I heavily use both of their cards.

Good Luck
