jpr0204's review: Callout Comment Good Day All, I would like to share my review with you about the Simmons First Visa Platinum Card. I applied for this card about 3 to 4 years ago and got declined. Reasoned being I had too many outstanding loans. Since then I have paid off those loans and built up my score even more. I just applied for this card this afternoon and good approved online instantly. They pulled TU 785. This card used to have a fix rate of 7.25% but recently changed to a variable rate. But still has the lowest APR in the country. The only other card to have a lower APR than this is Pulaski/Iberia Bank at 6.5% but that card has a $35 a year annual fee. This card has no annual fee. It says I will receive a letter in the mail in about 7-10 days discussing my credit line. Also, this credit card has no Balance Transfer Fees.

Remarks *UPDATE* 02/23/2011 - Well, I received a letter in the mail last night requesting that I send in a copy of my most recent pay stub showing year to date earnings and also to send in verification of other income which would be my fiancees' income. Never had to do this before whith any other credit card offer. Will post another comment once I hear something back from the bank.

Remarks *** UPDATE - 03/08/11 *** - Well, I received my new card last night. The credit line was only $1,500 but, this small independent banks are not known for giving high credit lines as they want to protect their assets. These much smaller banks cannot afford to take a hit say such as Citi etc...

Remarks *UPDATE* - Hello Everyone, it's been about two years now that i've had this card. It is a wonderful card to have. You just can't beat the 7.25% APR should you need to carry a balance. I just received a CL increase from $1,500 to $4,000. These smaller banks are very conserative with their CL's, due to the fact they can not afford to absorb a hit should one default. All the same, very happy to have this card!
