Review:

I just got a pre-approval for a 'Legacy Visa' in the mail. This card isn't listed in the database, so I used the Access Visa card (I have a suspicion that it might be from the same bank). Apparently it's offered by 'First National Credit Card,' and I beleive there is a $50 annual fee. It boasts initial limits between $250 and $1500 (I'm betting 99% are $250!)

Looking at their website 'http://www.firstnationalcc.com/', it doesn't look like you can apply without getting an invitation.

It looks like an 'o.k.' card. It has an annual fee, but no huge set-up fee. I'm going to pass, but has anyone heard anything about this card/company?

I wouldn't take my chances with this card especially with someone I've never heard of. Your handing them your personal info such as SS# and it may lead to identity theft. Go with a real bank if you want to prove a good looking payment history and apply for a BofA secured card. Instead of spending $200 or $300 on a card like FPB, you can use it for your BofA card and get your money back as long as you make your payments on time from 6-12 months. Sounds like a really good deal to me especially if you want get your foot into the door with BofA, they are a great bank.

I just looked a little harder...there is info all over the net about these guys. And yeah, they have a ton of fees. I think it's something like a $250 limit with a starting balance of $165.

So basically it's like a First Premier Bank card with a different name tag on it no?

Like First Premier, Continental Finance, etc. It also offers a 'Premium Service' for $4.95 a month that includes a few discounts and "More Frequent Reviews for Limit Increases"...they probably take your $4.95/mo, add it together, and give you a $25 increase every 5 months...seems very sketchy.

Not a bad card but start up fees are a killer. if you have less than perfect credit, you are gonna have to pay some fees until you reestablish things. typical card and fees with negative credit history. just watch out.......if you pay your card online and not through mail, legacy charges you 5 bucks to pay online so if you are paying the minimum of 30 you really are only paying 25.

Run,

My opinion is for anyone who had a First Premier card at one time or currently they share info with their partners, So at one time or another you've seem some offers in your mail box. First Savings Credit Card (AKA) Blaze (AKA) Cortrust bank (AKA) Legacy Visa. Its all the same offer and the same crap fees. They claim they offer limits up to 1500, but actually if anyone had dings in their credit you'll end up with a 300.00 line minus the $50 annual membership fee plus a one time acceptance $99 fee plus a $72 participation fee.

Bypass, but the card is here, it is just not routing over to the official site. I think FG may have taken it away, let me look and see.

I just got this card after a lot of research, and it is not from First National. It is issued by Plains Commerce Bank, the same ones who issue the "Total Visa". Actually, it looks like this card and the Total Visa are exactly the same....same APR, fees, etc. Given the choice between the two, I chose the Access Visa cause I liked the card design better than the Total Visa! lol

It is basically another "first premier" 4.95 fee and all those up front fees that leave you with not much available credit and add to the percentage of the credit you have...I want to stay away from little card limit balances...I got 2 declines for credit cards and one reason said "too many cards with low limits" so it is working against me...
