Rewards Credit Cards Can Cut Down Christmas Expense

Introduction to Rewards Credit Cards:

Rewards credit cards are generally available to applicants with good to perfect credit histories. They are available in dozens of categories, such as miles cards or cash-back programs. Rewards vary with each card offer, and can be really "rewarding", especially when the account balance is paid in full before interest charges apply.

How Rewards Work:

Credit card issuers make money for charges cardholders make, and rewards cards usually pay a percentage back to you in some shape or form. You can expect to redeem rewards at a card issuer's website, by phone, or a catalog. Some exceptions apply, such as cards that support charity and organizations.

Cutting Your Holiday Shopping Expenses:

I am a true believer when it comes to rewards cards. Rewards really do add up fast. For instance, a total holiday bill of $1500 with 2% cash back rewards will put $30 back in your pocket. Certain programs offer more, especially store reward programs. It's not uncommon to see 10% discounts or rebates that can amount to $150 with the same holiday bill. In just 5 years with holiday shopping on this spend and rewards rate, you can see $750 by just having and using the right card.

Conclusion

Don't quit using your cards after the holidays! Just think of all of the expenses that can be paid with a credit card versus a debit card, non rewards credit card, cash or check. As long as the vendor doesn't charge fees to use a credit card (common with utility companies), annual rewards can really stack up fast, and so can credit card debt. Don't get out of control with a card during the holidays, or any day. This article was written with the assumption that readers are paying off credit card debt before interest charges apply to an account. This is the only true way rewards work, unless a 0% intro APR is in effect.

Well, that's it. We hope that you will find the reward credit card that you want or need through Finance Globe.
