Well, so far I haven't gotten hit with any CLDs, but then again all my accounts are under 2 years old. Everything is bound to change, but I did get a C-L-I on Sunday.

Bloomies gave me an increase from 1200 to 1800 finally

Had to fire them due to lack of any sort of electronic statements PLUS the monthly AF fee. Both reasons were enough for me to end my relationship with Merrick (I don't like receiving paper statements, when I can get them emailed OR check on the website). Because I am a recent homeowner, I know I will not be able to currently reapply. So I am happy with the memories of the magazines PLUS the mugs I got from my redeemed points.

Well I started out with $2,000 9/07 so after hearing about all of HJM's increases I called 12/08 and got it bumped up to $2,700. I have been a Gold rewards member since 1/08.

I will have to call and get it increased again, I can't have younger peeps with less credit having higher limits then me

ColoNative, do you know what kind of Macys card you got (i.e. Red, Gold, etc)? How often do you spend with them? What may also not automatic is the level of Macys card you have (don't quote me....but in my experience, if I knew how much I spent, I always had to ask to bump a level, from Red, to Gold, to Platinum). Depending on your level of card (and Brian, this might apply to you as well), the love tends to be much better as well. That's partly why I can't wait to see Elite. :-)

Definitely call them with the phone number on the back of your card. I got 1-866-593-2549. (The phone numbers tend to be different on the cards. Red was different from Gold). Call right now and get your CLI!
I opened my account 9/1/07 and started as Red Star Rewards like everybody with a $2000 initial limit. You have to spend annually to both move up and maintain the next levels. I achieved Gold Star Rewards by the end of 12/07 and I have maintained that since. So, I am spending about $500 a year on the card. Just used it a few weeks ago for the first time since 12/08 so I am a little behind this year. I think I will call by the end of the month to see what happens. I really don't need it...but you know...

Well, you will definitely have a higher limit than I do. I don't think I spend even a quarter of my limit, but I do just so that I get a limit (and still have a decent wardrobe).

The only reason you want a higher limit is for overall util (like I need to tell you....lmao). That's why I have my three Sterling cards....I'm am convinced I have the scores I do because of sterling. I gotta hit Jared's one of these days and get a nice ring for the lady...

I might call-in and have Macy's reduce my CL if the banks come knocking on my door and asking me why I have so much available credit.

No you don't, Macy's probably don't care about them. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I have been having my fingers crossed with GEMB every since I heard what has been going on around here.

You might wanna hurry up, because if they start decreasing, you might end up at the gumball machine getting one

See, that is another thing, my utilization is like 2% because I have a few too many cards with decent limits....what can I say, I went a little crazy in 2001.

I think I will call at the end of the month to see what happens.

They let you have three Sterling cards or you have one of each of the brands?

They will let you have them, but it is best to make sure that you do not have a Fraud Alert, or else they will make you go to all the stores. I think JB Robinson closed, so they gave me another Kays card. But it's still three seperate lines. HOWEVER, you will share ONE credit limit. So while it may look like Sterling will give you $9k ($3k limit, I don't bother adding that expansion nonsense), they all share the one $3k limit (i.e. YOU DO NOT HAVE $9K in credit.....).
