As I always say, HSBC is only good for getting other cards, not CLI's.

i have two hsbc cards that have been in my possession for two years without a cli.so last month i decided to give orchard a call to see about getting a cli and got it (100.00 cl now 400)so i took it. MY other hsbc card(a household platinum mastercard with 750cl and no annual fee) i decided to hit the luv button and see what i can get.when i got to the line "amount to add to credit limit" i decided to reach for the sky a little to see what happens.I put in 1k and hit the submit button and in a instant it said "APPROVED" .I fell to the floor in disbelief. i never looked a gift horse in the mouth and took it.

Way to go, it is very rare that we are hearing of orchard (or hsbc) offering cli's. So we have to give a big throw in for you. Congrats!

thnx that is why i was shocked because i've read many post about how stingy hsbc is with cli's so i just decided to try my luck and if i did not get one, it would have been ok.

I should be receiving my usual $500 in December. It will bring my limit to $4,050.

That's evil. I hear CIT is having a lot of trouble. Try not to take it personally.

I'm going to take my sweet time paying it off. I'm not going to close the account because Newegg always has nice promotions for their Newegg cardholders.

well my chevron balance is zero(and shelved) and now i am going to use my other gas card (valero) who's gas price down the street from me just dropped to 2.05 a gallon.my valero has a apr of 13% with no annual fee but the minimum payment is through the roof if you carry a high balance but i love valero anyway..they give decent cli over time(started at 300 3 yrs ago now at 1200). the credit card database do not include this card so i mentioned it encase anyone would like to apply for it.

Eugene66, do you mean you started with $300 on your Valero card? BTW, that's the lowest interest rate I've seen on a "store card".
