Good for you. I opened mine in December 2011 and I an anxiously awaiting my first increase. Can't wait to report it. I just got approved for a Capital One card. I am hoping to be on the credit step program, but we shall see.

It's one of my lower CL's. It'll have to work its way up with my higher limits.

After speaking with Capital One last month about an increase, they informed me the Credit Steps program is a one time thing. So when you go from $500 to $750 like I did, that was it with the Credit Steps program. Just use and pay appropriately and you will get increases. Don't depend on the "Credit Steps" program for anything.

Thanks for that tip. I didn't know that. I definitely do not want to be stuck at a $750 limit. Did you have to initiate other increases or were they automatic?

My Capital One credit steps stopped at a $750 CL and they would NOT consider future increases. What to do? Find a different card with a different bank and I did. Then I closed out Capital One. Why they won't grow with some of us is beyond me.

    They're a sub-prime lender at heart.

My Cap 1 Credit Steps ended at $750 too. I applied for different Cap 1 Card and was denied for "Too Many Capital One Accounts"?!?

Wal-mart on the other hand....$100 CL opened 1/5/2012. Today I went to pay the bill (I pay off in full monthly). CL $600! IN THREE MONTHS! I sure Love that!

Just got a letter First National Bank of Omaha this week. It said congratulations on how I managed my Maximum Rewards Visa account! They gave me a $2,250 increase to $11,250. Didn't expect that from them. Considering they invited me to apply for they're AMEX card a couple months ago! They approved me for $5,000 CL. Apparently the card is also a flexible spending account like a Visa signature card! I thought they were one of the more conservative banks out there. They definitely showed me some love!

Amex Blue cash went from $5,000 to $8,000 per my request. I regret not asking for more, but I didn't want to push things. Submitted online with instant decision (no credit pull).

I typically run about $1000-$2000 through the card (each month), so this is a generous limit already. My favorite card all the way :)

Way to go. My Walmart account was opened 12/7/2011 and I am still waiting on them to show me some love. I have been consistent. I asked for a CLI a bit prematurely I think. I got a letter stating not enough experience at the current credit limit. I am just going to wait it out.

I spoke with someone at Capital One a few weeks ago and they assured me that the credit steps revolve. The rep stated that after the step to 750, you pay on time for 5 months and wait two months and the limit increases by 500 (if that was your initial limit). I guess he lied to me. He also stated that there was not a maximum amount. Maybe you should call them. I am not due for my first increase until around December. I will post if I get a second increase.

Awesome increase! Congrats! You are right about FNBO being conservative so you are doing very well by them. They have good card programs and they are a prime card issuer (picky however). Found myself one of their cardholders (six months ago) when they sent me a pre-qualified and I went for it (fifteen years ago I had one of their cards but, they were so conservative I cancelled the card and today I noticed they have changed quite a bit since then). Real customer service people in Omaha NE that speak clear English and want to satisfy our needs. As to FNBO's American Express Co-Branded Cards, yes it is a "no pre-set" limit (flexible spending line of credit) like a Visa Signature or World Master Card. Also, they are rated near the top for their banking standards and they did not take any government bailouts. Privately held.
