Just got a credit limit increase from 3 Rivers FCU on my Platinum Visa card from $4,000 to $8,000 and an APR reduction from 15.50% to 10.10%! My TransUnion score at the time off the increase was 708!!!!! My future is so bright I need shades!

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
Kohl's - Open 5.2011 with a $400 limit. Called customer service for a CLI (have 3 girls in my household!) was told that you must be with them a full 6 months, however since that is just 15 days away for me would look. Requested permission to look at my credit (don't know if hard or soft pull yet). My credit limit was immediately raised to $1000.00.
I don't usually carry a balance on this card because the rate is high, but the sale offers that come with it are awesome and most require you to use your Kohl's charge.

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
I opened a wal-mart card and a jc penny card through gemb 13 months ago, and got a $300 limit with both of them. At 4 months, my wal-mart card went to $600, at 8 months, it went to $1,100, and at my last statement, went to $1,700. these increases were all automatic. I asked for an increase on my jc penny card at 4 months and was denied. Then at 6 months, it was automatically raised to $1,800, and i have not been able to get another increase on it, probably because i dont use it enough.
Capital one and my credit union have been very stingy with increases.

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
The history on Capital One was to deal in the sub-prime market and issue multiple cards with small limits ($200 to $500 CL's) and you would go over the limits and they made money on the fees. As they grew, opened an actual bank(s) plus the acquistion of other cards both retail and bank cards they are changing. It is unknown if Capital One will move into the prime market but, they have some new "excellent" credit bank cards that are pretty progressive. Stingy on CL's is their history. Related to GEMB the track record is very erratic and on any given day who knows what drives them. JCPenny has been reasonably stable once you get it. Walmart was always very stingy and CL's used to run $200 to $600. You have broken through the ceiling with them. Congratulations! May be a candidate for other prime cards.

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
so before i had a walmart card with unlimited limit, got stolen, and amex had 2k limit, as did my BoA card..
but i became lazy,
so credit score dropped, got capital one platinum, cl was initially 500. was totally focused on improving my cs..
so from 580 it went to 675 so far.. and my cl in 3 months jumped from 500-750. not bad..

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
After Kohl's raised my limit I decided to try my BFG Credit Union Visa. I called in and asked for a limit increase, they asked for paystubs which I faxed. They never once said they where going to hard pull even though I asked. They just said "account review" I have had the card for a year and pay it off every month. My TU score is a 686 and my D/I ratio is well under 30%. I have a car loan (at 3.34%) with them, my checking, savings, overdraft line, and this credit card.
I asked for an increase to $5,000 or any increase I would qualify for. I was informed today that my request was denied due to too many inquiries (2) and too many accounts opened in the last 12 months (2).
I am disappointed. I will wait 6 months and try again I guess.
