Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
Cireone, call Macy's back and speak to another CSR rep. Macy's gives CLI's every 3 months, don't give up.
If your last CLI from Cap One was in August, then you need to wait 6 months from August in order to be eligible for another CLI.

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
So what happened to the creditsteps program??????
I know i called prematurely for my first increase and surprisingly got 1. But I thought that I would still be eligible for the creditsteps program as some have wrote on this forum that I could get a double CLI, 1 creditsteps and the other a regular. IDK.

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
Cireone, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I tried the same procedure with my father's Capital One account and it didn't work. Basically, they gave your Credit Steps Program CLI before your statement cut. You might have luck after your fourth statement closes so just hang in there.

Cireone, do whatever works for you. Don't be pressured into doing something you don't want to do, always be in your comfort zone.

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
Called Cap1 yesterday...asked for a CLI,...yeh I got one $500, now CL is $1000. My 3rd statement did not even generate yet. The lady said I kept my account is good status and they like customers like me. I wanted to say I only had ya for two months...oh well I'll take it!. I know I'll get the credit steps increase in about 6 weeks!!!
Now my AU/ Cap 1 $300 5/8 , $600 8/08 $1100.00 9/08
My own Cap 1 $500 7/08, $1000 9/08
Woosah!!

Way to go. Cap 1 is sure giving you cli's pretty often. Or, am I misreading somewhere?

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
Speaking of Cap1, I posted a message of me not getting the credit steps ad being told that they have no idea of the program and to just try back in a few months. Well I was looking at the original letter for the credit steps whn i got home from work ad thought, lets just check online an see what it shows. To my surprise, I was given a $500 CLI. Thats double what the inital CLI creditsteps program offered. Im so happy for this. It now lessens my utilization. Does anyone know anything about Cap1 Purchase Checks??????

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
Cireone, I use Capital One's purchase checks all the time. Now, I only use my Capital One account to pay my auto payments monthly. I write the check to myself, deposit it into my checking, and make the payment on Toyota's website.
I use the "No Transaction Fee" purchase checks because I don't want to 3 percent of the check amount and I end up paying for the amount I borrowed in full before my statement cuts so I don't end get charged for it at all. Gotta love Cap 1!
