Default Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!

I think this forum would benefit those who asks other members "When do you think I will get a limit increase." This might end up being a long thread, so if you can try to add every card that comes to mind. If the dates are slightly off, don't worry, some of us probably had cards for over 5+ years and can't remember the actual dates of increases. I am going to add mines when I get them all together, until then, let's flow.

    WHAT I AM REPORTING NEW!
I applied for Macy's on Aug 26, 2007. I called in for a limit increase Nov 26, 07 and was told that I can only receive $100 cli. I believe that all those new small limit cards are messing with my report.

Marathon Gas Card $150 to $500 after 6 months
Capital One Credit Steps Program $300 to $500 after 5 months and not again after 2 years, account now closed
Capital One Cash Rewards Card $300 to $500 after 5 months and not again after 1 year and 8 months.
Household Bank Rewards MC $300 to $500 after 9 months. (A bit surprised because they are now CapOne owned.)
Merrick Bank Secured MC $1000 to $2500 after 5 years. It did take about 3 years before they gave me a limit increase and I wish at some point they would give me my money back or interest on it!

    New Card Marathon Visa $2500
Hopefully this card will help CapOne get with the program!

Sometimes CapOne will offer you changes to your terms and conditions. Some are temporary, some are able to change the terms or type of card. It is theoretically possible to upgrade your card to with CapOne to a prime card. It is also theoretically possible to win the lottery. I took an offer from them to change the interest rate on the card for a temporary basis. I don't carry a balance, so whatever, I just hopes it gives me more opportunities for a better card with no fee. It doesn't hurt to take an offer for something better!

LOL, that is right out of the credit card agreement, isn't it. Nicely said.

So, I got a call from Discover today asking me why I wasn't using their card so much any more, and I told the nice lady that I thought my credit line was too low compared to my other credit cards, and so she put me on hold for a minute and looked at my account and after a minute came back and said "if I were to offer you a $5,000 credit line, would that make me start using the card again" to which I replied absolutely!!! My credit line started out in 8/2011 @ $1,500 and on 2/2012 it was increased to $3,000. I LOVE my Discover card.

You have the credit world calling you wanting to satisfy your needs? Impressed! Not many of us can claim that status... Discover with a CL of $5K in a year is unreal where you started at $1.5K CL (not bad in itself)... As we all know, Discover tends to start out slowly and conservatively. You have shown them luv. Nice work...

CapitalOne refused to give me a CLI even after I had a score of 768. My last CLI had been 5 years ago from $2,500-$4,800. I finally sent the CEO of Cap1 (you can google it) an email stating that I had been a customer since 1999 and had never been late. 3 hours later I received a call from the executive office saying that they had my email and would like to discuss it. They asked me some income questions and I told them that one family vacation would max out my credit card and that I would like $7-10k or I would be forced to use my other prime cards instead of my newly PCd Venture card. A few days later I checked my account online and my CL had been increased to $7,500.

Capone makes me so happy. I am so glad I got the Marathon Visa, it might not be the best out there on the market, but at least there is a limit I can use if I want to make a larger purchase. I mean my limit is large enough at Capone to buy a tank of gas and a water. I have 2 rewards cards with them, but both are limits that really don't make sense with my score and/or history with the company. If I get the Chase Freedom card, I will cut the $39 AF Capone card up into little pieces and put each in an envelope with a different word to make a sentence for them. Oh wait I only need 2 envelopes... .. .

Sam Club gave me an automatic increase, my line went from 500.00 to 1200.00. Oddly enough when I requested an increase a few weaks ago they said no and gave some crazy reason. I went online to see if my payment posted and noticed they had increased me. SWEET! JC Penneys increased me from 450.00 to 950.00. Belks and PayPal were a no go. (It may have been a few days too early) I am waiting on an explanation in the mail. My husband has been conditionally approved for our Refi! Finance Globe rocks!! I have been at this since February and the results are fantastic!!!!!! Slow and Steady!!! My husband scores were around 599 when we started. Two of his scores have gone up to the high 670 range!!!

Called Macy's answered a few questions, they doubled my credit line! Had the account open about one year with occasional use, paid off usually within two months of purchase.

Waaaahoooooooo! JCPenny's just gave me a $1000 CLI today. I can't believe it! Go Meya, it's your B-Day! Go Meya, it's your B-Day! You guys better get up on our cli's, it's Xmas, which is the best time to do so. Give yourself a treat to help boost our CR.

Woe Woe, got another one.......ICON just gave me an additional limit increase for $600 giving me a whopping $3500! Whooohooo! I am telling you all to get on your p's and q's with these increases. This just lowered my utilization to under 20%. This is a cool TRADELINE members. You should apply for this even if it is just for some rollerskates. Get on those wheels and just skate your way to a new financial success, ride the blades to the wheels fall off, or just make it a XMAS Gift!

*Walmart just gave me a measly $75.00 increase. It's Xmas, what's really going on? I will make the changes above.

I called the backdoor number to Cap1 today and received a cli of 300 dollars that will be posted to my account in 3 days. This is my first cli ever. I was given the cli even though I went overlimit on my other newer Cap1 Visa by 8 dollars (the balance is now at zero because I paid it off just as soon as I saw it). This is great for my utilization. It will probably take me a couple of extra months to get a cli on my other Cap1 card. That backdoor number is where it is at. That's what's up.
