"The JC Penney credit card can be used at all JC Penney locations, including its outlet stores, as well as for catalog purchases, and for online purchases on their website. Customers also can use the JC Penney card at any CVS Pharmacy or Rite Aid Pharmacy. People can apply for the card their website or at any JC Penney store."

Re: When should you ask for credit limit increases?
Building or rebuilding credit is a slow process requiring lots of patience. Some posters on this site (myself included) have experimented with different methods to maximize our scores and rush the bad luck out the door. In the end it takes time and staying on top of what is being reported. In my case it took two years to build enough to get close to prime cards and ten years to get pre-qualified offers of the lowest apr's (needed the combination of good 'average age of account' coupled with 'length of credit history'). Not to be forgotten is NOT to many inquiries. Doesn't seem to matter how good your credit report is, too many inquiries and credit accounts leads to DENIALS.

Re: When should you ask for credit limit increases?
CL's come and go but a long, positive payment history will always be there on your reports. I would be focused on making on-time payments and keeping your balances low rather than higher CL's.
Not all creditors see a borrower with high limits in a good way. They look at high CL's as an opportunity for someone to max them out and bury themselves in debt if they were to lose their job or struggle financially.
