Thread: Who is familiar with Union Bank

Good lord, I forgot to mention this story. Ok, I have 2 banks that I deal with for 2 specific reasons one for paying bills only and one for savings and daily use. Well I became tired of the one I use for savings and daily use because they are so slow, so I decided to go to the Union Bank and see what they were all about. To my surprise, they came up with fees that was worst than what the Wamu commercials used to be like when they were tagging fees all behind customers back, scanning heads on the counter, and whatever you could ask for. Then the rep started talking about lines of credit to protect overdraft, those fees were worse than the checking account itself. The first thing that crossed my mind was, "I finally found who Tribute is linked with." While the customer service rep was talking, I just immediatley told her, "Lady look, I came here to open account, not to get myslf in debt. Is there a fee because I walked in this bank and talked to you?" Then the customers that were in line fell out laughing, so I turned around, looked at the customers , then looked behind my seat to see if there was really a tag stuck on it saying CHARGE HER. The rep was still talking to me, worse than the way I post in here, I kept trying to tell her "thank you" and I will take my business some where else, but she kept on talking. So I got up and went to the window to leave and the security guard came right by me. I thought it was a stick up or I was about to get arrested for not paying a sit down fee. [STOP THINKING CRAZY THOUGHTS BUDDIES!] He was only opening the door for me....lmao. The rep came behind me as i was leaving out and reached out her hand to shake mines. I looked at her and said, "Is there a fee for this?" "When she said no, I shaked one time and left. Whew what a horrible experience I had at that bank. I would rather take a chair with me to my slow bank that I currently use which is free than to open an account with Union Bank of California .

I never expected that would be the same story to union bank here in the Philippines? I do use tow banks also but forced to open a unionbank account because at that time it was the only bank that could accept paypal. But wow i would never want to mention about the service.

I think that I could answer that because I’m going to get my ATM this week on Union bank. You don’t have any maintaining balance, but they have a lot of fees. I’m going to give the link for this one.

I couldn’t get the exact URL for the EON; you just need to click on the Eon Cyber account on top to see the fees associated with it!

Well done, Meya for standing up to the bank; because of the competitive environment banks are operating in, they are hard sellng services and imposing fees on the sly :(

I just got my card, and I’m thinking of getting my money from PayPal. I don’t like to pay a high so I thought of opening another account and this time with Metrobank. PayPal has stated that I can withdraw my money from the said bank.

Wow, I have never had that happen before. I know that a lot of banks have a ton of fees. Wachovia doesn't have a fee for their savings accounts as long as you keep at least $300 in your account which isn't that bad...and even so the fees aren't that bad.
