hello Ms. Kiwi........just as i read your post a few minutes ago i fired my stupid orchard card because the csr i was talking to told me they discontinued doing periodic reviews for cli's so i told him "if you don't grow you have to go" and as Donald Trump use to say "you're fired" close my account.

    LOL On the phone message.

Things are going pretty well for me. Just slowly building up my scores and reading up. Staying low and not apping for anything. Creditors are just too wierd right now and I have my eye on some products from NFCU but I am willing to wait until my scores are just a bit higher.

If Orchard is that way I imagine it's the same for HSBC, can't get any love from them. I'll keep them only until I can get something from NFCU. Then off with their heads!

lol.....Don't get me wrong Orchard is better than the First Premiere's of the world but when a card that stays at a low limit with annual fees is noet worth it in the long run.I now have three prime cards(Citi -Boa-Chase)that i am using the most and will benefit me in the long run.

On other posts I pointed out that Orchard Bank, Household Bank and HSBC Bank exist for different parts of the credit market. Highest risk goes to Orchard with the lowest limits est. CL at $200 to $800; Household Bank est. CL at $500 to $3,000 and HSBC Bank est. CL at $1,000 to $10,000+ or more with interest at 8.9% for purchases and no AF. I worked the system with all three and found moving myself through the maze worked. One year for Orchard Bank, year two through four with Household Bank and then on to the real thing 5 years plus with HSBC Bank. It works! Today I have an HSBC MC no AF $6K CL and 8.9% APR with an HSBC AX no AF $8K and 9.9% APR. It took seven years total after the BK to get there however. Slowly one day at a time. Rebuilding credit after a BK is more than I believe most people realize. Credit scores are ever a challenge with the banks working against us!!!

Orchard, imo, is just a bank i grew with. They are better than most rebuilders, but nothing to brag about...lolz! They been stop giving me cli's

Orchard bank did it's job for me but i had noticed before i closed it that they removed the luv button and i recieved a changed of terms, which is no consequence since my account is closed. my household i will keep because I do get cli's from usage(cl 4k+)and I do not have an annual fee and my apr was lowered from 15% to 10% to my astonishment.

Eugene66 - Thanks for the info on HSBC Cards. I felt alone in being treated fairly. Folks on this website have not been fans of HSBC. I know back in 1997 I had an HSBC GM Card and I dropped it because they had 17.9% purchase APR and cash was 23.9% APR I think. Too high in my mind. However, I did have a CL of $11,000 on the card. Closed it. HSBC has been more competitive in their APR's today. Folks need to know that there are three level of cards. Orchard Bank for the starters/rebuilder, on to Hosuehold Bank for the intermediate and HSBC Cards for the regular credit people. Note HSBC has a Premier Mastercard with limits of $100,000 but you need assets at $500,000 or more so they do know how to put on the Ritz!

lol you're welcome....I started with a cl of 750(household card) and went from there with cli's and good balance transfer offers to which i took advantage of. the max cli on the card is 5k which is pretty good for a mid-sub prime card and is a perfect starter card for rebuilding.

Eugene66 - Your Household Bank Card has $5K CL, WOW ...! Most I ever got was $800 on Orchard and $1,800 on Household. You might want to start thinking about the regular HSBC Card series... Although your $5k will cover me for virtually all my needs. More than that except emergency just makes me feel good!

You know, I still keep my pre approved letters and when i received the one from household i did not believe until now.It has put my Capital One card to shame as well as a few of my other cards.I will try for an HSBC card down the road but i am letting my accounts age and develop a strong payment history for now.
