All I know is when I put a good application through the computer it sometimes will reject it based on the zip plus four zip code. I really have no idea how it figures that out though. It happens, not often, but it does happen. I would say in 1 out of 4 applications.

As far as the rest of you if you never had an American Express Card, you for sure will be able to get one in the future if your credit cleans up and your scores are high enough. That is 75% of what we go by. Your zip code will decide your fate though. If you have excellent credit but live in a flagged area you will still be declined.
Justin, why do you wish you knew my name? So you wouldn't ever accept my application for an AMEX. And as far as mine and Porgy's situation goes, I didn't do anything wrong, I was acting the way he was. Yes I know I violated the FG rules and I apologize for that, but I can't stand someone that criticizes us good people and treats us like we're criminals just because we are trying to do the right thing. Everyone here at FG had my back since day one, and I won't let them down. PLEASE refrain from criticizing us. Instead of criticizing us, why can't you be helpful and give us some tips on how to get an AMEX card. Mike, Meya, Pamela2, and I are all working hard so we can help newcomers that we are once situated in. I'm sorry if I broke the FG rules again in this comment, but we just need to clear things up here because this isn't a place of criticization, it's the complete opposite.

Well thank to God I have never experienced an identity theft, but my credit card was stolen once. I get to know about it soon enough and closed it before someone could have taken advantage of it.

Cobalt, which company was it that issued you that card?

I am about to give credit lock a try. Porgy has my hairs standing on my head about GEMB.

Meya, let me know credit lock goes. I might roll with it also.

O.K., this is not exactly identity theft, but it feels like it. I went to a salon on Saturday and the hairdresser called me and said she charged me 4x by accident. I called my company and it is still on my card.

That can be disputed very easily and should have been red-flagged by your credit card company. You should follow up on this.

I followed up on it and they said that they could not take them off as “unauthorized charges” until the merchant calls up with codes to take it off my account. They are still there because it takes five days to come off the account. If they are still there is five days I will have no choice but to report them as fraudulent charges.

Seems normal. This happened to me at Chevron and I had charges reversed in 48hrs.
