Re: Amex
After having Amex in my wallet for a few years, it's not a status thing for me anymore. When it was announced that you could pay with points on Amazon.com, I got all excited. I did take a look and I...

Any Farmville junkies?
It's been a very long time since I have been here. But are there any Farmville junkies here like me?

Re: What's your favorite card?
My go to card is my Amex Gold Premier and my back up card is the Amazon.com Visa issued by Chase. I only use my Discover card for the cashback bonus mall.

I have found that Discover More is only good for certian 5% cashback categories that you have to sign up for. If you spend a lot of money (groceries or travel). I will only use my Discover for...

Re: Got approved for discover
Discover is good to have but it is not the best card in my stable. I find that they are very conservative with limits and are not too keen on giving CLI's. I am not too thrilled with the rewards on...

Re: Amex
I would call Amex and tell them that you were a customer back in 1996. Amex does backdate accounts. It would add 14 year of credit history to your file.

Re: Amex
I have noticed with my Bank of America Amex card rewards have been devalued. It would cost me about 11,000 points to get a 25 dollar gift card to Amazon.com. When I redeem points from my points from...

Re: Chase
This has been going on for a couple years now at least. If they switched you over to points and you get a letter about the categories about the cash back, it will be converted to points. I don't use...

Closed credit accounts stay on your report for 10 years, so that can help you out with age of accounts. I don't know how many other accounts that you have. If this is your only card and you have bad...

I am 27 and don't remember when there wasn't a football team in Cincinatti. I remember a time when we didn't have a NHL team in Columbus. I think that when they catered to Lebron's every whim, he in...

I am from Cleveland and all this stuff about Labron really started to make me sick. All the hype about the will he or won't he stuff told me that he was probably going to leave. The reaction from a...

Re: Changes you wish you could make.
I would pretty much get rid of asking how much a person makes in a year. That can be easily traced by the credit card companies. At best, it can be tricky because a person's living situation can be...

Re: Changes you wish you could make.
What I am talking about is for CLI's, not new loans or CC's. I can understand when you want a new credit card that there is a hard pull. My thing is that the CCC's are a little too interested with...

Re: When should you ask for credit limit increases?
With this credit climate, I never ask for CLI's. I find that the less you do it, you are more likely to fly under the radar and not get CLD's or ratejacks. If creditors give me a CLI and I don't have...

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
I still prefer that there are no hard pulls for CLI's. Soft pulls are fine. I have nothing to hide from the CCC's, but why pull a hard.

Re: Report Your "Credit limit Increases" Here!
Isn't Chase a bank that pulls a hard inquire on your credit report to get a CLI? I think that they still do that.

Re: Amex
I can live with an annual fee to a degree, but I do have limits about what I will pay in annual fees. I find that the double points with gas and groceries on the Gold Premier justifies the annual fee.
-
Re: Amex
Some people simply don't like paying an annual fee. Some actually like having a credit limit that reports to the credit reports. What can kind of suck about a charge card is that there is no reported...
