I started out with a 1400 dollar limit back in July of 2008. the regular AMEX would not give me a card. in almost one year and half I have got my limit to 10,000 now and I have pretty much paid this card off in full. I am an elite member with this card and I get 10percent shopping sprees all the time and different perks and gift cards with dilliards. I can use this anywhere AMEX is accepted but don't have to deal with amex. no annual fee and everything is managed on line. I don't have any problems with ge money they have really good to me. I would say thumps up to this card and anyone that wants to have an American Express but dosent want to deal with AMEX customer service.

Wow, $10K from GEMB is pretty huge. Usually the GEMB Old Navy/Banana Republic/Gap Visa, JCPenney MasterCard, Walmart Discover and Dillards Amex have limits below $3K.

I usually see higher limits on the Sam's Discover over all the rest which is really odd.

Make sure you use this card routinely so they don't drop your credit line.

Congrats! I agree with you colo, they mistreated me in the beginning that is why I let them go.
