Lobsterboy's Card Review:

Applied online, pulled EX plus score was 763

Stated 20 day e mail decision but the site allowed me to pick password and set up with no account info kinda strange.

No contact and 3 weeks later card just arrives in mail with 4800 limit added college kids as AU users online

Congrats! This is a great card to have. I hope CitI will convert my secured card to a Cash Returns Mastercard.

You did good by adding your kids as AU's onto your account. It'll make everything easier for them when they apply for credit.

Congrats on all your approvals. But, I would cool it for awhile on applying for more credit. Even with your scores, you'll most likely start getting denials based on all the new recent accounts opened.

These accounts need time to age, at least 12 months.

Congrats, and good luck.

Comment Title: Yes Scores Did Decline From Lobsterboy on 2009-06-26

Yep, each inq was about 9 points on average and did get 3 denials from having new account listed. ! Years ago I canceled all my credit cards I had for years and just now found out that was not a good thing! That is why I added these new accounts (about 8 or 9) the info shows up right away. The big thing I would say to make sure of is to know what CRA your area pulls when you apply. I found much of what I have read was incorrect for me. I could not believe I was denied for a Hooters card with my scores! I could not find the real Citi card to revew on mine was the Plat select. You really have to read a lot to figure all this out and then sometimes it is not correct!

This is very true. Sometimes, the CRA we expect the issuer to pull is entirely incorrect. The situation is, that the issuers switch bureaus constantly, and pull a different one than we expect. I recently moved from SC to WV, and in SC Citi pulled Experian on me, and when I moved here and request a CLI, they pulled Equifax.

It does depend on your geographical area, but I found much help on Creditboards.com to find out such info. You can plug in your state, or bank to find out which bureau is pulled depending on the area you live.

You may want to check it out, but you will have to sign up (free, of course), and go to the section called "credit pulls"

Also, another one is who gave me credit.com, but I don't think its updated regularly.

Just some insight, hope it helps.
