You will love this card. I've been a Macys card holder since I was 19 first year in college. I started out with a $200 limit as a student. After I worked as a part time employee there for about 3 years, I decided to apply for the Visa Card as well. Every 3-6 months you can ask for an increase (NO Hard Hit Inquiry)!! Its all done in house by a soft pull. My limit now is $13000 on the instore card, and $7000 on the Visa Side. I never use the Furniture credit line but its $800.

The APR is generally high around 18% but this is standard regardless if you have an 920 FICO or a 620 FICO. Online account manager is great, if you pay before 5pm, it post the same day. You can also go into a store an pay the same day as your due date to avoid a late fee (if it ever comes to that). Contratulations.

On your new card. Call them up in about 3 months for a CLI.

Also, none of my business, but you might want to take an application holiday... You never know when you might really need to apply for something and you could get declined due to the recent inquiries.

This is a great card. I had it twice in my lifetime and Macy's came through even though I flaked on them in years past. On my third attempt they gave me a $100 dollar credit limit after first telling me they made a mistake in issuing me the card! I was so bummed but I begged the customer service gal to please let me have the card again and they agreed. I've had the card now for about a year. About four months into my new account I asked for a credit increase and they gave me an additional $100. I was so excited. I have had a tremendous struggle in gaining new credit. Macy's took yet another chance with me and I'm so grateful. They are a solid company with a lot of heart. Keep your commitments with them and pay your bills on time and they will stick by you. There's a reason this company has been around for over a hundred years.
